Scout's Honour: 100 Years of Adventure in Oakville

The Oakville Museum's exciting new exhibition opens on Saturday, February 19, 2011 and celebrates 100 years of Scouting in our community.  The exhibition pays tribute to the movement that hs been instrumental to the personal growth of youth in the community over the past 100 years.

Oakville is please to announce a New Youth award for Oakville Youth by Oakville Youth.

The  Oakville  Youth  in  Action  Award  is  an  award  created  by  the  members  of  the  Oakville  Area Youth  Forum,  designed  to  honour  those  Youth  who  show  exceptional  Scouting  Participation,  and  a strong  sense  of  personal  development.

There  are  three  levels  of  the  award  (Bronze,  Silver,  &  Gold).  Each  level  represents  a  section;  the criteria  are  geared  towards  the  Program,  and  age  of  the  corresponding  section:  Bronze  represents the  Cub  Scouts,  Silver  represents  the  Scouts,  and  Gold  represents  the  Senior  Sections  (Venturer Scouts/Rover  Scouts).  The  Oakville  Youth  in  Action  award  is  to  be  launched  in  our  Centennial year,  in  time  for  B.P.  week,  in  February.
